About the Islands

The Turks and Caicos consist of 40 different islands and cays, only 8 of these islands are inhabited. Located off the east coast of the United States, the two island groups are situated around 1770 kilometers northeast of Miami, Florida, and 1350 kilometers south of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. They are located southeast of the Bahamas, north of Hispaniola, and 914 kilometers from Miami. The TCI are a British Overseas Territory, with a legal and judicial system based on English common law. The Islands have no direct personal or corporate taxation and the local currency is the US dollar.

The Turks and Caicos economy is based on tourism, offshore financial services, and fishing. TCI has many advantages as a conduit for international investments.
